The landscape surrounding the central rock formation below the sanctuary of Chuise della Verna is composed of woodland and meadow sections. I recorded the site in detail, beginning with the rocks and then the flowers and plants surrounding it. I found the following plants on site which relate and differ to those possibly described in Bellini's painting - Margarite daisies, cyclamen, ladies lace, blackberry, elderberries, meadow saffron and butterfly pic (?).=The rocks held wall plants which were difficult to identify from the ground but related to those described by Bellini in the way they tumbled in and out of the rock cracks and crevices.
